Can’t make commencement? You don’t have to miss it!

Every year, FIU seniors walking at commencement invite loved ones and a select few who have had an impact in their lives to witness this landmark moment in their collegiate careers. For some, however, this may not be possible because family and friends live far away.

This Dec. 12-13, FIU will be broadcasting all six fall commencement ceremonies live on its Facebook page and here at FIU News, starting with the College of Education and College of Engineering & Computing ceremonies Monday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m.

The new platform also gives viewers the ability to watch the ceremonies on mobile browsers, including cellphones and tablets.

More than 500 viewers tuned in to watch last year’s commencement ceremonies while the program was still in beta.

FIU student and Twitter user @Kmonn001 tweeted, “It’s amazing. Families across the world can participate now.”
