FIU hosts Haiti-CEO retreat


As Haiti marks the second anniversary of its devastating earthquake, one of the most significant signs of economic recovery is a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

Top Haitian CEOs and entrepreneurs studied how to build big business without capital at the College of Business Administration

The “2011 Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year” from telecommunications operator Digicel fostered that success. Twenty-four finalists for the award took part in an intensive executive education program designed to give them the strategic skills and expertise to look outside of Haiti to the international marketplace. As part of the program, the Haitian CEOs and entrepreneurs traveled to FIU last November for the second annual, three-day Haiti-CEO Retreat.
