FIU’s vice president for engagement elected chair of Health Foundation


FIU Vice President for Engagement, Divina Grossman, has been elected to a two-year term as chairwoman of the board of directors for the Health Foundation of South Florida, a nonprofit, grantmaking organization focused on improving health for residents in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.

Grossman became a Health Foundation board member in 2003 and most recently served as vice chair.

“Her knowledge of disease prevention on the local, state and national level and extensive involvement in the field adds special value to achieving our goals of expanding access and emphasizing health promotion and primary care for all,” said Steven E. Marcus, Health Foundation of South Florida president and chief executive officer.

FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg said, “At a time when health is a leading issue, there is no better person to lead this organization than Dr. Grossman. Her commitment to life-long learning and personal experience in the health field will help her in this leadership role.”

Prior to her position as vice president for Engagement, Grossman served as the director and dean of the School of Nursing, and later dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at FIU.
