Florida Board of Governors appoints new member to FIU Board of Trustees

The Florida Board of Governors has appointed Robert T. Barlick, Jr. to serve on Florida International University’s Board of Trustees.

The appointment fills a vacancy left when Joseph L. Caruncho was tapped to serve on the Florida Board of Governors.

“The FIU Board of Trustees will benefit from Mr. Barlick’s experience in the financial sector as we navigate through another difficult budget year,” said FIU Board of Trustees Chairman Albert Maury. “I look forward to working with him to ensure that FIU continues to grow and prosper.”

Barlick is currently a vice president with Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he manages investments for high net worth individuals, endowments, and foundations.

“I am honored and excited to have this opportunity to serve an organization that is so vital to the growth and development of our community,” Barlick said. “I look forward to working with my fellow trustees, President Mark Rosenberg, and the entire FIU community to ensure the continued success of this great university.”

Barlick also serves on the South Florida Advisory Council of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts’ Endowment Investment Committee and is a past board member of the Community Partnership for the Homeless.

Barlick received his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College and his Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Barlick resides in Coral Gables with his wife Ana-Marie and their two children, Armando and Catherine.
