The FIU women’s basketball team dominated Stetson, 75-47, in Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) first-round action March 15 at the U.S. Century Bank Arena at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.
With the win, the Panthers advance to the second round of WNIT play and will face off against USF March 17 at 7 p.m.
Sophomore Jerica Coley led all scorers on the night with 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the floor and 3-of-5 shooting from the free throw line. The All-American hopeful has now scored in double-figures in 32 of FIU’s 33 games.
Junior Finda Mansare added 14 points to go along with a team-high 12 rebounds to mark her sixth double-double of the season and seventh of her career. Also scoring in double-figures was redshirt senior Fanni Hutlassa, who contributed 13. Junior Carmen Miloglav had a stellar night, going 6-of-7 from the field for a season-high 12 points.
