2012 summer camps at FIU

Experts say that children need to be kept active — mentally and physically — during the summer break to avoid learning losses. Learning about the environment, architecture, improving athletic skills and prepping for college are just some of the many options available to children and teens interested in attending summer camp at one of FIU’s campuses. Here are the camps being offered this summer:

Hosted by the School of Environment, Arts and Society, the camp features marine science activities, swimming, kayaking, and arts and crafts. The four-week camp focuses on a different theme each week: Discover Our Backyard (July 9-13); Creatures of the Sea (July 16-20); Underwater Exploration (July 23-27); and Hot Planet, Cool Kids (July 30-Aug. 3).
