More than 4,300 graduates received their diplomas this spring semester in one of six commencement ceremonies Monday, April 30, and Tuesday, May 1. The FIU News team was there to capture all the Polaroid moments – students celebrating and parents beaming with pride – in the video above.

I was at the 10:00, May 1 Commencement ceremony. It was wonderfu. What was the name of the musical selection used as the ceremony ended? It was very powerful with a strong baseline and violins. I would like to buy it to further remember the day.
Hi, Karen: We’re not sure, but we’ll find out for you and let you know. Thanks, FIU News.
Yes, curious minds want to know… It was very contemporary.. Made me want to start krumpin’ !
Hi, Karen & Char: The song is called Fanfare, and it is by a duo named Black Violin. It’s the song used in FIU’s Worlds Ahead commercial. Fun fact: One-half of Black Violin (Kev Marcus, who plays the violin) is a graduate of the FIU School of Music. Wil B, who plays the viola, is an alum of FSU. Hope this helps!
