FIU breaks ground on Academic Health Center 5 building


FIU will break ground on the Academic Health Center 5 building.  The building will house the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work, the Extreme Events Institute and the Department of Earth and Environment from the College of Arts & Sciences.

The building will house research space, including food science and behavioral labs, as well as classrooms, conference rooms and faculty offices. It is expected to be completed by December 2013.

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 11, from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.  It will begin in room 170 of Academic Health Center 2 and then move to the special events tent located north of Academic Health Center 3 on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus.  Reserved parking is available adjacent to the AHC2 building.
