FIU sponsors Hackathon Aug. 10-12 in Miami

Are you a tech-type with an idea for a killer app? Looking for a weekend of coding and fun, fueled by caffeine and food? Or are you someone who wants to connect with some of Miami’s top tech talent?

The Mobile App Hackathon is an event you should attend. It’s designed for both technical and non-technical people who want to build mobile apps, compete for prizes across different categories and most importantly, meet new people and scout for teammates to work on new or current projects. With FIU’s Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center and the 2012 Americas Venture Capital Conference among the co-sponsors, the Hackathon will introduce participants to the latest cutting edge tools to help deploy their app with a website backend, fully hosted in the cloud.

Produced by the AT&T Developer Program, the Hackathon will take place Aug. 10-12 at UM Life Sciences & Technology Park located at 1951 N.W. 7th Ave. in Miami.

The event will also bring experts in the field to speak and coach. Those whose programming skills may be a little rusty can take advantage of live developer support from local senior developers as well as from AT&T to help  code that much faster.
