Panther pride prepares to shine for ESPN’s College Colors Day

The upcoming launch of the college football season is electrifying the nation, and this season is particularly special as FIU football celebrates its 10th anniversary. To showcase the Panther spirit, FIU is inviting students, alumni, faculty, staff and fans to participate in ESPN’s College Colors Day on Friday, Aug. 31.

Getting involved is easy:

1. Pledge your allegiance to FIU. Share the link with your classmates, family and friends. Then watch FIU’s rank rise!

2. Upload your favorite photos featuring FIU gear to facebook.com/collegecolorsday. Enter the photo contest between now and Aug. 31 for a chance to win weekly prizes from ESPN.

3. Wear your best FIU or blue-and-gold ensemble on Friday, Aug. 31. Show your spirit on campus or at work and upload a photo to Facebook (don’t forget to mention FIU!). Seeing a sea of blue and gold is sure to energize the FIU football team as the players leave for their first game of the season against the Duke Blue Devils.

Companies and organizations can also participate by encouraging employees to wear their favorite college-branded apparel on Aug. 31; interested groups can register at collegecolorsday.com. ESPN launched College Colors Day in 2005 to celebrate and promote the school spirit and college tradition surrounding collegiate athletics. Thousands of college and universities and millions of individuals participate each year.

FIU football kicks off Sept. 1 at Duke. The first home game will be September 8 against Akron. If you can’t wait that long for your FIU Football fix, whet your appetite with this behind-the-scenes look at the team’s FIU Magazine photoshoot.
