The FIU Panthers came really close to serving a second-consecutive L to the Louisville Cardinals out on the rainy gridiron Sept. 22, but, when it was all said and done, the blue-and-gold team dropped a 28-21 decision to its No. 18-ranked guests.

Redshirt senior Jeremiah Harden led the Panthers (1-3), rushing for a career-high 102 yards on 20 carries. Freshman E.J. Hilliard and redshirt sophomore Jake Medlock combined for 198 yards passing, completing 19 of 26 passes. Senior Wayne Times grabbed a game-high seven receptions for 58 yards. Redshirt senior Jacob Younger, who registered his first receiving touchdown of the season, hauled in a career-best five catches for a game-high 73 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, senior Johnathan Cyprien recorded a game-high nine tackles to go along with his fourth career interception.
