FIU-UM Consortium hosts panel discussion: The United States and Latin America after Nov. 6


WHAT: A panel discussion focused on the United States and Latin America after the U.S. presidential election will be hosted by the Miami Consortium for Latin American and Caribbean Studies. A re-elected Barack Obama or a newly inaugurated Mitt Romney would face a complex region beyond the hot topics of drugs and migration or Free Trade Agreements.

WHO: David Adams of Reuters, Tim Padgett of Time magazine, and Mimi Whitefield of The Miami Herald will serve on the panel. Moderators will be Marifeli Perez-Stable, interim director of FIU’s Latin American and Caribbean Center, and Ariel Armony, director of the University of Miami’s Center for Latin American Studies. The Miami Consortium for Latin American and Caribbean Studies is a partnership between the two universities.

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 8:30 a.m.

 WHERE: Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables, FL.
