1. Fall finale
You don’t need us to remind you that it’s Finals Week. Avoid burnout and come to one of SGA’s CramJam events, starting with Midnight Breakfast (MMC and BBC) on Dec. 3. The Green Library and Hubert Library extended hours begin Sunday, Dec. 2, so you can study into the wee hours.
2. Handel for the holidays
There’s nothing like music to get you into the holiday spirit. The FIU Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Musicum, FIU Master Chorale and FIU Concert Choir present Handel’s Messiah and other seasonal standards on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center. Visit Livethearts.com for tickets.
3. A picnic with Paley
Get a taste of Art Basel closer to home at the Frost Art Museum’s annual Breakfast in the Park on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 9:30 a.m. This year’s free event features a talk by renowned metal sculptor Albert Paley, breakfast and a guided tour of the Sculpture Park.
4. Music for Martí
The Cuban Research Institute hosts its Classically Cuban concert Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center. The program will include selections spanning over 100 years, including compositions inspired by Jose Martí and his texts. Tickets start at $15 for students, faculty and staff.
5. Go for the green
