Have you already purchased your tickets to Friday night’s concert at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center featuring Handel’s Messiah? It’s Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. FIU News crashed Tuesday’s rehearsal for the concert and made the video above.
A collaboration of FIU School of Music’s Symphony Orchestra, the Amernet String Quartet, Concert Choir, Master Chorale and Collegium Musicum, the concert will feature celebratory Baroque music. The second half of the concert is dedicated to selections from George Frederic Handel’s Messiah, concluding with the iconic “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Halleluiah ,Halleluiah ,Halleluiah Halleluiah Halleluuuuuiah ohhh. Has anyone read Handel’s resurrection by Stephan Zweig? It tells the story behind the making of the Messiah.
I’m glad FIU is presenting Messiah and I think the music and singing is beautiful. I don’t really like the headline that FIU News “crashes” the rehearsal for Messiah. It sounds disrespectful. Also, the beginning and ending of this video sounds disrespectful with the instruments “tuning up” in a silly way. Trivializing Christianity may make you feel safe with man but not with God.
