Local kids visit Santa’s toy shop at FIU

One hundred needy Miami-Dade County school children visited Santa’s toy shop and each received a bicycle and other toys at FIU’s 20th annual Holiday Celebration for Children.

This FIU holiday tradition hopes to inspire the elementary kids to work hard academically and pursue a college education. Dozens of university volunteers and major corporate sponsors Walmart & Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, Best Buy, and several others worked together toward one goal – putting a smile on these boys and girls faces.

Hosted by the Division of Student Affairs, the celebration featured performances from the schoolchildren about the spirit of the season.
