1.   Women’s tennis serve up the spring season
The spring tennis season kicks off Jan. 26 at home against Florida Gulf Coast, beginning at 1 p.m. The team has won five league titles in the past nine seasons, and is gunning for a sixth this year.

2. Take a break for business
Get personalized mentoring on your business idea at the next Coffee Break Miami, hosted by the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center. The next monthly event will be Thursday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. in the CBC lobby (MMC). See the full schedule and RSVP here.

3. The future is social
In the past decade, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have emerged as part of daily life. The New York Times media reporter Brian Stelter lectures on the impact these and other social networks have had on the way we talk and think. Catch his presentation on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at the WUC Ballrooms (BBC).

The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival attracts thousands of attendees, and FIU Go Green is recruiting volunteers to help with recycling at the event. Check out the requirements and sign up by Feb. 1.

5.  We’ve been waiting all year for this particular Sunday night
