FIU-United Way auction raises $17,031.60

The FIU-United Way campaign wrapped up Friday, Nov. 30, with an auction and recognition event in the Graham Center Ballrooms. More than 200 people attended the event, raising $17,031.60.

Former Student Government President AJ Meyer ’11 returned to campus to support the campaign. “I never miss the auction. It’s a wonderful event for a great cause,” Meyer said.

The auction was a success due to the collaboration of more than 100 organizations from FIU and the South Florida Community. As folks bid on their favorite items – everything from an HP printer to a year membership to the FIU Rec Center – they were treated to hors d’oeuvre by Pronto Pizza, Pizza Rustica, Chic Berry, Havana Rick’s Café, Latin America, and Chicken Grill.
