FIU hosts the 3rd Annual International Conference on Tropical Medicine


WHAT: A conference that focuses on new understandings of tropical diseases and innovative breakthroughs in the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and control of global health problems involving tropical and emerging infectious diseases. The effort is collaboration between the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University and the Americas Health Foundation.

 WHO: Keynote speakers include Dr. Jon Kim Andrus, deputy director of the Pan American Health Organization; Marc Ouellette, scientific director for the Institute of Infection and Immunity, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Quebec, Canada; and Samuel Sia, associate professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Columbia University, New York. Speakers include international faculty and staff from prestigious institutions including the Caribbean Public Health Agency, World Health Organization, US Southern Command, US National Institute of Health, the Center for Disease Control, Alabama Southern Research Institute, University of Valencia, the Kolkata School of Tropical Medicine, Sanaria Incorporated, IBM Incorporation, and the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
