Cuban Research Institute hosts conference on Cuban Diaspora and the Future


From Thursday, May 23, 2013 to Saturday, May 25, 2013, the Cuban Research Institute will host the ninth biennial conference on Cuban and Cuban-American studies, featuring three days of presentations and discussions.

Topics include immigration, media, culture, economy, historical documentation and more.

The program features prominent experts on Cuba and its diaspora including Carmelo Mesa-Lago, Cristóbal Díaz Ayala, Alejandro Portes, Jorge Pérez-López, Matías Montes Huidobro, Jean Stubbs, Eliana Rivero, Yolanda Prieto, Mauricio Font, Silvia Pedraza, Gustavo Pérez Firmat, Guillermo Grenier, Ruth Behar, María de los Ángeles Torres, and Rafael Rojas. It also includes many younger scholars as well as graduate and undergraduate students at various stages of their academic careers.
