Fall practice begins for FIU football

New head coach Ron Turner and the FIU football team began fall practices Monday, Aug. 5, as they prepare for the 2013 season, their first in Conference USA. The practices being held at Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium from Tuesday, Aug. 6, through Saturday, Aug. 10, and begin at 8:15 a.m. Practices are open to the general public.

The Panthers begin their season on the road Aug. 31 against Maryland before returning to south Florida to take on in-state rival UCF at FIU Stadium on Sept. 6 for the home opener.
