FIU Athletics, C-USA announce SAAC Hunger initiative

FIU Athletics is proud to announce that its Student-Athlete Leadership Council along with the Conference USA Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) have begun the SAAC Hunger initiative. The competition between each C-USA institution begins now and will run through Dec. 1

The competition’s purpose is to see which C-USA school can collect the most canned food items and donations. Your chance to help FIU excel while making an impact in our community is simple. To purchase food online, you can CLICK HERE and select what you would like to contribute.

Donations will also be accepted in person following home athletic events at FIU. Additionally, fan donations at the events will serve as an entry for a chance to win FIU prizes, faculty/staff parking upgrades and more.

Fans can donate at the following home athletic events:

Men’s Soccer: Friday, Nov. 8 (Charlotte)

Women’s Basketball: Friday, Nov. 8 (Florida Gulf Coast); Friday, Nov. 29 & Sunday, Dec. 1 (FIU Thanksgiving Classic)

Volleyball: Sunday, Nov. 17 (North Texas)

Men’s Basketball: Saturday, Nov. 16 (Texas Southern); Tuesday, Dec. 3 (Nova Southeastern), Saturday, Dec. 7 (Florida Gulf Coast)

At the end of the drive, the food will be delivered to the Miami Rescue Mission.
