“At FIU, we are committed to serving the entire South Florida community and in doing so, continue to expand our footprint strategically,” said FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg. “FIU plays an important role in our community’s economic development, as we prepare our students to take good jobs and to create good jobs. We look forward to this new partnership that will benefit students along the 1-75 corridor for years to come.”

The four-story, state-of-the-art building was designed by Perkins + Will and is being built by Kaufman Lynn Construction. Slated to open this fall, the building will be LEED-certified and will feature classrooms, science labs, meeting spaces and student commons. The student common area and dining facilities on the first floor will be shared by both institutions.

Broward College’s offerings will focus on business, supply chain management, global trade and logistics. A number of credit-for-prior learning options will also be available, as well as credit by examination.

FIU’s offerings are similar to the current offering at the Pines Center, which will move to Miramar at the end of the summer: undergraduate programs in liberal studies, business and construction management and graduate programs in business, engineering, education and public administration. Certification/non-degree programs, test preparation and languages also will be available.
