Students raise $72,000 at Dance Marathon

More than 300 students, faculty, staff and volunteers laced up their dancing shoes recently for the 17th annual Dance Marathon, raising $72,000 for Miami Children’s Hospital. The 17-hour, overnight event benefits Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which supports a network of 170 children’s hospitals across North America.

In addition to dancing, games and fun, one of the highlights of the night is a visit by local ‘Miracle Families’ to thank the dancers for their efforts and share their own personal success stories.

“It’s because of what you do that allows a guy like me to be a Dad,” said one miracle father, standing with his now 14-year old son, a survivor of acute myelocytic leukemia.
