FIU marks 10 years of solving the global water crisis

A decade ago, FIU set out to make a difference in the global water crisis. Through a partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the university has been working around the world to improve water resource management, sanitation and hygiene, protect biodiversity and influence public policy.

The Global Water for Sustainability program, known as GLOWS, created a new integrated, holistic and sustainable approach to water management around the world. It also placed FIU at the forefront of university-led applied development work.

This week, FIU GLOWS leaders will gather in Washington, D.C. with other USAID project leaders to reflect on lessons learned from 10 years in the field.
