FIU’s international business program ranked eighth among the best undergraduate programs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 edition of Best Colleges. The program moved up from number 11 last year.
“Our strong global perspective and first-rate faculty give students in our international business program a powerful sense of engagement with world-wide business issues,” said College of Business Dean David R. Klock. “We are proud to be consistently recognized among the nation’s top programs, and we thank US News for this honor.”The 2015 edition of Best Colleges includes data on nearly 1,800 schools nationwide. These are ranked on up to 16 measures of academic excellence, including class size, undergraduate graduation and retention rates, freshmen test scores, financial resources, faculty resources, and alumni giving.Rankings for the best undergraduate business programs are based on a peer assessment survey conducted in spring 2014. The international business program at FIU features a multi-disciplinary curriculum in which students take courses in international business, regional studies, and functional areas. It integrates seminar-style classes, study abroad opportunities and professional development activities.
“It is a fantastic credit to our students, our faulty, our college and our university,” said Karl G. Kroeck, chair, Department of Management and International Business. “Looking at the schools ranked above us and below us, it is clear that international business at FIU is among the elite and distinguished.”
