TEDxFIU 2014 tickets sell out in one day

Tickets for TEDxFIU 2014: Fearless Journey sold out within a few hours of going on sale Monday. This year’s event will feature talks by 10 speakers including a professional racecar driver, scholars, a novelist, entrepreneurs, a global philanthropist, a cancer survivor, as well as a live performance by a singer-songwriter.

“We’re delighted to have a full house once again for this year’s event,” said TEDxFIU organizer Deborah O’Neil MA ‘09, the associate director of FIU News & Communications. “It’s going to be a great night with this lineup of inspiring speakers.”

While tickets are sold out, you can still watch the entire event online. It will be streamed live on TEDxFIU.com and aired simultaneously in the GC Pit at MMC and the Wolfe Center at BBC.

“We really encourage students and alumni to organize watch parties the night of the event,” said TEDxFIU organizer Eduardo Merille ’97, MBA ’00, the director of FIU Marketing and New Media. “The TEDx experience is all about building a global community for sharing great ideas.”

Emceed by FIU alumnus Alberto Padron, TEDxFIU is FIU’s signature event showcasing the talent, research and creativity of faculty, alumni and students. FIU’s TEDxFIU videos have captured more than 300,000 views to date on the official TEDx YouTube channel.
