Become a TEDxFIU Speaker

TEDxFIU-Bulbs

For the last three years, faculty, alumni and students at FIU have taken to the TEDx world stage to share ideas and performances from the FIU community. Our last three live events (2012, 2013, 2014) all sold out and the videos produced from these events have received well over 300,000 video views via the official TEDx Talks youtube channel.

Always Forward
The theme for TEDxFIU 2015 is Always Forward, a nod to the future. As FIU celebrates 50 years since our founding date (we officially open for business in 1972), we are seeking speakers and entertainers to remind us of the importance of thinking forward and most importantly, of always paying it forward.

The live TEDxFIU event will take place on Nov. 5 at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center.

Apply (Deadline: March 27, 2015)
There are two elements in every application that have propelled the applicants to the final selection committee.  One is a great idea. Something that begs to be shared with the world.  The other element is very practical.  Speakers need to have done something with that idea or have a body of work that demonstrates their authority on the idea.  The best way to prepare before you sit down to write your application is to watch some ted talks.  TEDxFIU speakers must be students, alumni or faculty of the university. Good Luck!
