Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management Announces New Dean’s Advisory Council and Members

Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management has formed a new Dean’s Advisory Council to help ensure graduates are well-prepared to contribute to the evolving needs of the hospitality and tourism industry.The inaugural group of members includes successful alumni and industry leaders, who will help support the Chaplin School’s mission and vision, expand its financial base, and provide counsel on strategic initiatives, international partnerships and academic content.Philip Goldfarb ’79, President and Chief Operating Officer of Fontainebleau Miami Beach, is the council’s chair.“I am honored to have been selected,” Goldfarb said. “We are enviably positioned to become one of the most renowned schools of hospitality education in the world. Our prestigious council will help lead the way.”

Mike Hampton, dean of the Chaplin School, agreed and said the council will benefit not only FIU but the entire global hospitality and tourism community.

“It’s an honor to have these distinguished individuals bring their industry acumen, experience and knowledge to the council,” Hampton said.  “There are so many exciting initiatives taking shape at the Chaplin School: from the completion of the brand new laboratories and learning facilities, such as a state-of-the-art restaurant management lab, to the development of new program majors in key fields of study within the industry, to new strategic partnerships across the globe.”
