POTUS, Bill Nye and 5 Panthers in the Everglades

President Obama decided to celebrate Earth Day, April 22, right in FIU’s backyard. With Florida’s Everglades National Park as a back drop, he took to the podium to remind the crowd of the importance of preservation and the threat of climate change.

Five members of the FIU family were on hand and led in some supporting roles on this visit.

Professor Evelyn Gaiser, in the photo on the bottom right, was invited as a sea level rise expert subsequent to her visit to the White House last week.
