Head Coach Rita Buck-Crockett helped lead the sand volleyball team to a program-best 20-3 record and a top four national finish.

Another historic moment was made at the AVCA National Championships as FIU sand volleyball head coach Rita Buck-Crockett was the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association National Coach of the Year on May 2.

This is Buck Crockett’s first honor from the organization as well as the program’s first Coach of the Year.

Buck-Crockett is in her third year guiding the Panthers. This season, FIU posted a program-best 20-3 overall record and spent the second half of the season ranked No. 3 nationally. The Panthers advanced to the quarterfinals of the AVCA team competition, finishing the season as one of the top four teams in the country.
