Get a glimpse of FIU’s largest tradition – Trail of the Torch

Every fall, the FIU Alumni Association hosts the university’s largest on-campus tradition – Trail of the Torch.

The annual event begins at the FIU housing quad at Modesto A. Maidique Campus with a pep rally featuring Roary, the Golden Dazzlers, cheerleaders, the FIU marching band and other special guests. The night culminates with a procession during which students carry a flame relay-style from the quad to the Torch site in front of PC.

Established in 2004, the Trail of the Torch normally occurs on the first Thursday of the fall semester; this year’s event was postponed to Oct. 15 due to rain. Experience a piece of the tradition in the video above.
