Show your Panther pride on FIU Day Feb. 17

For the 13th annual FIU Day Feb. 17, dozens of FIU community members – students, alumni, faculty, administrators and Board of Trustees – will head up to Tallahassee to voice their Panther pride and promote FIU in an effort to convince legislators to support Miami’s only public research university.

Just a few of the major FIU topics of discussion in Tallahassee: FIU expansion, investing in our infrastructure and supporting StartUp FIU. Read more about the university’s 2016 legislative priorities here. 

But FIU Day isn’t just in Tallahassee. On-campus, in Miami and right from your homroary profilee, you can voice your support and show your FIU spirit.

Here’s how to create buzz about FIU wherever you are:

  • Spice up your Facebook or Twitter profile picture with FIU spirit to include the Panther statue in your picture.
  • Sign up to advocate for FIU at advocate.fiu.edu.
  • Follow @FIUadvocate on Twitter.
  • Join us in encouraging the State Legislature to champion FIU’s priorities and thank them for recognizing that FIU’s success is our community’s success. Tweet Now.
  • Don’t forget to use #FIUDay2016 and #AdvocateFIU.
  • Free Cookies: Come to Modesto A. Maidique Campus at the Chapman Plaza or Biscayne Bay Campus at Panther Square from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. to learn more about FIU’s priorities; what the university is doing for students and the community; and voter registration deadlines and dates.
