On Saturday, Feb. 6, more than 220 students attended the 13th annual Student Leadership Summit at the Biscayne Bay Campus. Founded and produced by the Center for Leadership and Service, the one-day conference gives students the opportunity to learn about leadership; self-awareness and development; strategic planning; group dynamics; and several other leadership competencies from faculty, staff and graduate students.
This year’s keynote speaker was Alex Chacon, a student who sold his belongings 3 years ago to travel the world on a motorcycle. He has since visited 5 continents, more than 41 countries and traveled 124,000 miles – all while becoming a social media influencer, professional photographer and international blogger.
