Creative thinking makes College of Business art gift a reality

mark-kanovich-trovador-1A gift of more than $800,000 of artwork has been made to the College of Business at FIU from Albert Scaglione, CEO and founder of Park West Gallery, a commercial art gallery well known for their art auctions on cruise ships around the world for almost 25 years.

The collection includes more than 300 pieces of art, among them works by Mark Kanovich, Linda Le Kinff and Zamy Steynovitz. The art will be placed throughout the business school facilities, including the College of Business Complex, the Ryder Business Building and MANGO.

Former FIU student Charlie Cartaya, director of operations at Park West Gallery, and his wife, College of Business alumna Barbara Pestana (BBA ’02), joined efforts to make the donation happen.

“This is a great example of how our alumni continue to help the college in creative, constructive ways,” said Jose Aldrich, acting dean of the College of Business. “Gifts like this help change lives and contribute to the growth of future global business leaders and entrepreneurs.”
