PUBLIC TALK
Friday, January 21, 7pm
The Wolfsonian welcomes Greg LeMond, three-time winner of the Tour de France, the best known and most prestigious three-week bicycle race in the world. LeMond shares his views on challenging and conquering speed limits through his experiences with the Tour and his years at the top of the cycling world. As the first American to capture the event, LeMond revolutionized the sport in the 1980s and early 1990s. He was the first successful professional to use clipless pedals, cycling eyewear, modern high tech helmets, and aero bars. To put LeMond’s accomplishments in context, the evening kicks off with a glimpse the tour before LeMond conquered it, as we screen Vive Le Tour (1962, France, Louis Malle, 19 min, French with English subtitles, color, DVD). For more information or to RSVP: 305.535.2644 or lydia@thewolf.fiu.edu. Free for Wolfsonian members, $10 all others.
