The personal and professional journey of Naphtali Rishe, director of the High Performance Data Research Center, led to the establishment of a cutting-edge computer research center at FIU.

 




Health-related research, a growing area at FIU, reflects the designation of health as one of the University's priority academic strategic themes. Three "snapshots" of current projects represent the state-of-the-art research being conducted in this area.





Alumna Melanie Green, named the 1998 Miami-Dade County Teacher of the Year, draws from her life experiences - ranging from "problem child" to "mom from hell" - to motivate her students to reach their maximum potential.




Between 1999-2000, FIU alumnus Cesar Becerra and his wife will travel throughout all 50 U.S. states to take the pulse of the American spirit and psyche.
