Sandoval's Deliverance: a musical journey
From his humble beginnings as a poor boy with a dream to his current status as one of the world's most renowned trumpeters, Arturo Sandoval - professor in the FIU School of Music - has built a career marked by persistent drive, turns of fortune and a growing string of accomplishments.

After raising twice its original goal two years before its closing date - and to meet the ever growing needs of the University - The Campaign for FIU increases its goal to $200 million.





Born out of the devastation of Hurricane Andrew, the FIU International Hurricane Center conducts cutting edge interdisciplinary research to mitigate the destruction caused by storms.




Artful Truth-Healthy Propaganda Arts Project, an initiative created by the Wolfsonian-FIU, aims to change youth attitudes about tobacco by teaching fourth to sixth graders about the persuasive tactics used in tobacco advertising.
  

 



The heartfelt reporting of FIU alumna Liz Balmaseda '82, who received a Pulitzer Prize in 1993 for her columns in The Miami Herald, reflects the kaleidoscopic Miami community.
