has announced the appointment of two new vice presidents, as well

Public Relations graduate program ranked eighth in nation
The program was named a "Premier Program" in a Marquette
University directory of the country's leading schools offering advanced
degrees in public relations.
Delpit
named executive director of FIU Center for Urban Education &
Innovation
Lisa Delpit, currently the Benjamin E. Mays Chairholder of
Urban Educational Leadership at Georgia State University, will join
FIU's College of Education in July.
Architecture
School faculty and students nearly sweep architecture awards
FIU's School of Architecture (SOA) faculty and students were winners
of many of the awards and honors recently presented at the 2001
AIA Miami Awards.

Breslin's book focuses on role of 'pleasure' in foreign affairs
Beyond Pain presents a 2000-year overview of the ways in
which pleasure has been effectively used to defend and advance foreign
affairs interests.

student to have poetry book published
Monster Zero by Jay Snodgrass was recently named the second-place
winner in the Elixir Press Second Annual Poetry Awards and will
be published by the Minneapolis publisher.

FIU football Head Coach Don Strock announced that 21 high school
student athletes committed to accepting grant-in-aid to attend FIU
this fall in the second high school recruiting class of the Golden
Panther football program.
