Electrical/Computer Engineering, was awarded $85,006 from Motorola for "Dosimetry for the Ferris Exposure System."

Timothy Collins, Biological Sciences, received $91,006 from the Florida Sea Grant College Program for "Aquatic Nuisance Species: Genetic, Distributional, and Ecological Characterization of Recent Swamp Eel Introductions in Florida."

Nicholas DiCiacco, Business and Finance, was awarded $50,000 from miscellaneous donors for "Pool Lighting.”

M.A. Ebadian, HCET, received $25,000 from Fluor Daniel Fernald for "Researching a Long-Term Stewardship Requirements Identification System"; $294,000 from Weskem, LLC for "RCRA Water Treatment in Paducah"; and $138,639 from DME, Inc., for "Low-Cost Approach Lighting System - FIU Technical and Testing Support.”

James Fourqurean, SERC/Biological Sciences, was awarded $222,870 from the Department of the Interior National Park Service for "N vs. P Limitation of Benthic Primary Production in Florida Bay: A Manipulative Experiment."

Albert Gan,Civil and Environmental Engineering, received $105,279 from the Florida Department of Transportation Research Center for "Updates of Florida Crash Reduction Factors and Countermeasures to Improve the Development of District Safety Improvement Projects.”

Divina Grossman, Nursing, was awarded $230,379 from Tenet South Florida Health System for "Tenet/FIU Nursing Shortage Partnership.”

James Rivers, Metropolitan Center, received $50,000 from Welfare to Work Partnership for "The Miami BizLink Law Project."

Douglas Wartzok, dean of the University's Graduate School, received $170,000 from the Society for Marine Mammalogy for "Production of Marine Mammal Science.”

Fang Zhao, Civil and Environmental Engineering, received a total of $260,000 from the Florida Department of Transportation Research Center for "Optimization of Transit Network to Minimize Transfers" and "Alternatives for Estimating Seasonal Factors on Rural and Urban Roads in Florida."
