Business Trailblazer To Speak At FIU
Harvard Business Professor is Leading Expert on 'E-Culture'

MIAMI (Feb. 19, 2001) -- Business leader, best-selling author and Harvard faculty member Dr. Rosabeth Moss Kanter will speak at Florida International University on Tues., March 6, 6:30 p.m. in the Wertheim Performing Arts Center, S.W. 8th Street and 107th Avenue. Her talk is part of the FIU Presidential Lecture Series, which last month brought Nobel Prize winner Dr. Murray Gell-Mann to FIU.

Kanter's latest book, "Evolve!: Succeeding in the Digital Culture of Tomorrow" (Harvard Business School Press, 2001) just hit bookstores and is already being called "an indispensable tool for any company…" by, among others, Martha Stewart, chairman and CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Considered one of the most prominent business speakers and strategy consultants in the world, she will explore what she calls "e-culture" - a new way of living and working that will transform today's organizations.

"Dr. Kanter is on the cutting edge of business strategies and innovations," said FIU President Modesto A. Maidique. "It is an honor to have her on campus, sharing her insights with students, faculty and the community, all of whom can benefit tremendously."

An Ernest L. Arbuckle Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, Kanter advises major corporations and governments worldwide. Named one of the 100 most important women in America by the Ladies' Home Journal, and one of the 50 most powerful women in the world by the London Times, she has received 19 honorary doctoral degrees and more than a dozen leadership awards. She is a fellow of the World Economic Forum and has authored "The Change Masters," "When Giants Learn to Dance" and "World Class."

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be followed by a book signing.
