FIU's 2002 United Way Campaign kicked off on Sept.
17 and 18 with events at both FIU campuses.
This year's campaign, which is again being chaired
by Executive Vice President for Business and Finance Paul Gallagher
and College of Education Dean Linda Blanton, has a goal of $350,000.
Last year's campaign raised more than $325,000.
United Way ambassadors will soon be asking members
of the FIU community for their support of the 2002 campaign.
The following is a list of planned campaign events:
- Oct. 19 – Gus Roig’s
Tennis Tournament
- Oct. 26 – Flea Market.
CSC Parking Lot.
- Nov. 2, 8 a.m.-noon –
Burdines Charity Shopping Event. Dadeland Mall.
- Nov. 15, 5:30 p.m. – Auction.
GC Ballroom.

| At the FIU-Biscayne Bay kick-off event,
individuals and organizations were presented with the United
Way Good Works Awards, which recognize commendable community
