In an effort to give Florida International
University students an opportunity to examine prejudice and discrimination,
the Fourth Diversity Awareness Day Symposium will be held on Wed.,
Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at FIU-Biscayne Bay in the
Wolfe University Center Ballroom, 3000 Northeast 151 Street, North
Miami.
This year’s event, titled Many People, One World, will provide
a one-of-a-kind perspective on the multifaceted issues surrounding
diversity. The symposium will give participants the chance to
interact with facilitators at a variety of roundtable discussions
as well as the opportunity to hear experts share their views on
diversity.
“This year in particular, a much more interactive program
is planned,” said Dwight Nimblett, chair of the planning
committee. “Through experiential learning, students will
get the chance to experience firsthand issues related to diversity.”
The Diversity Awareness Day Symposium is open to all FIU students
as well as University faculty and staff. For more information,
