Richard Lanham is the author of The Motives of
Eloquence, The Electronic Word: Democracy, Technology and
the Arts, and eight other books of literary criticism and
prose stylistics. He has written and lectured widely on electronic
text, curriculum, libraries and scholarly communication in the
digital environment. He has been an NEH senior fellow, a senior
humanities fellow at Cornell, and Mellon Professor at Tulane.
