Trust Fund Established to Assist Injured
Public Health Graduate Student

Gayathri Bhaskar, a graduate student in Public Health and a member of the FIU family, was critically injured when struck by a car at the 16th Street entrance of FIU on October 7, 2003. She was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial. While her condition has stabilized, she remains in a coma and her recuperation will be long and arduous. A trust fund has been established to assist with transportion to and medical expenses in India, where she can receive extensive medical attention with support of her family nearby.

The family is seeking assistance from the FIU community to provide monetary assistance for Gayathri's care. Please send your checks or money orders to:
