New IT Program: Earn Degree in 12 Months of
Saturday Classes

The School of Computer Science is pleased to announce an exciting educational opportunity for the working professional. Beginning in March 2004, SCS will be offering the Bachelor of Arts degree program in Information Technology in a Saturdays-only format. This degree program consists of 30 credits (10 courses) and can be completed within 12 months by attending classes on Saturdays only. The classes will be held in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the School of Computer Science in the University Park and are taught by the SCS faculty and industry experts.

“The Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology program is designed for working professionals who have a bachelor degree in a non-technical field and want to advance their careers by acquiring a practical expertise in the key areas of information technology,” said Masoud Milani, the program’s director. “The program includes subjects including hardware, operating systems, application development, web development and management, databases, networking and system administration.”

Information sessions on the new program will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 and Feb. 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the second floor conference room of the Engineering & Computer Science (ECS) Building at FIU-University Park.
