The Roz and Cal Kovens Conference
Center at FIU’s Biscayne
Bay Campus is the second South Florida conference facility to
gain membership into the International Association of Conference
Centers
(IACC).
The Kovens Conference Center joins
the prestigious Conference Center of the Americas at the Biltmore
Hotel in Coral Gables,
three other
Florida facilities and 300 conference centers around the world
that have met the IACC’s stringent standards for membership.
The organization looks at conference room design, technology, services
offered and other factors when considering facilities for membership.
The IACC (www.iacconline.com) is a non-profit organization founded
to advance the understanding and awareness of conference centers
as distinct and unique within the hospitality industry.
“We are very pleased that the
Kovens Conference Center has been awarded this prestigious membership.
With IACC’s stamp of
approval, the Conference Center can continue to assure its clients
a commitment to quality and excellence unsurpassed in the local
meeting market,” said Christian Pastner, executive director
of the Conference Center.
The Conference Center offers its
services to a variety of clients including Cisco Systems, General
Motors, Pepsi Cola, Citibank,
TGIFridays and Caterpillar, Inc. These services include state-of-the-art
conference facilities and high-tech meeting services such as
videoconferencing, web casting, web conferencing, high-speed
Ethernet access, satellite
broadcast services, wireless Internet connectivity and access
to Internet2.
