FIU Festival of Trees Celebrates Its "Quinces"

MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 27, 2001) -- The spirit of the season hits a new milestone this year as the Florida International University Festival of Trees celebrates its 15th year.

Holiday "trees" - imaginative creations of some of South Florida's premier design professional will once again deck the marbled halls of One Brickell Square in downtown Miami. A special preview gala will kick off the display on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.

"This is the event for South Floridians in the architecture and design field," said Tom Graboski from Tom Graboski Design Associates, Inc.. "It's also become a great event for the community at large. There are great trees to see and a lot of fun to be had." Involved in the festival since its inception 15 years ago, Graboski's office participates each year by designing a tree that gets displayed.

Preview tickets will benefit the FIU School of Architecture Interior Design Endowed Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Musical entertainment, food and open bar will be part of the evening's event.
