FIU holds forum for prospective medical students and their families


WHAT: The Informational Medical Forum at Florida International University will provide high school and undergraduate students with expert advice on how to become a competitive candidate for medical school. The forum will include advice on which courses students should be taking in high school to prepare for college and what students need to do once in college to be considered by medical schools. Panelists will describe medical education, financial aid and talk about the mission of the FIU College of Medicine, as well as its curriculum and what makes the FIU College of Medicine such a unique program.

WHO: This is a joint project of Student Government, the Office of Pre-Health Professions Advising, and the College of Medicine. Presenters also will include FIU students, as well as alumni who are current medical students and practicing physicians.

WHEN: Sept. 25th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

WHERE: Florida International University, Graham Center Ballroom, 11200 S.W. 8th Street in west Miami-Dade County. The event is free and open to the public.
