Transitioning to a ‘consultative model approach’ will allow recruiters to enter each search opportunity with a broader understanding of the operational needs of their clients and deliver a more competitive pool of applicants.

The Division of Human Resources has been working diligently to streamline its processes and programs transforming the division from a traditional, more transactional model to a strategic, business-based partnership model. Carolyn Jackson, director of recruitment services, is excited about the service enhancements hiring managers will experience via a “consultative model approach” in acquiring high-caliber talent.

Jackson and her team are looking forward to providing leadership, customer service and expertise in recruitment trends that will assist hiring departments in identifying the most qualified candidates in an expeditious manner.  The consultative model approach entails a more engaged dialogue between hiring departments, recruiters and candidates, and yet another opportunity to enhance the level of partnerships with all stakeholders. Recruiters will now enter each search opportunity with a broader understanding of the specific operational needs of their clients and provide a more robust and competitive pool of applicants.

“A one-size-fits-all model is no longer effectual for a dynamic institution like FIU,” said Jackson. “My team and I are extremely excited to take a fresh approach to attracting and retaining talent by implementing a model that is as diverse and vibrant as FIU.”

As the director of recruitment services, Jackson is committed to raising the bar and contributing to bottom-line results aligned with the university’s goals and objectives. Since her tenure at the university, the division has undergone progressive transitions, and this initiative, combined with many others, will be a promising opportunity to set us apart as leaders and trendsetters in academia.
