Students from The Honors College Leadership Seminar led by professor M. O. “Thiru” Thirunarayanan will host a golf tournament open to FIU faculty/staff, students, alumni and community members on Friday, April 3, at the Miami Springs Golf and Country Club.

The day-long Golf Scramble 2009 will begin at noon with an hour-long registration and driving range practice. The tournament will run from 1-6 p.m. with dinner and an awards reception following immediately after.

“This is the second annual Golf Scramble that we’re hosting,” said Honors College Dean Lesley Northup. “We’re hoping to make it into a bigger event each year.

“I will be there as well,” Northup added. “I wouldn’t say I’ll be playing golf, but I’ll be swinging away. And we’ll be happy to see members of the FIU community and the community at large there.”
